Every place has its history that should be learnt. There is a problem that young people do not have much desire to learn history and culture of their native places and do it only as a home task. We decided to explore history and culture of the city districts and attract students to this activity who run their own excursion agency as a part of the project “School entrepreneurship”. We are going to prove with the help of this work that history and culture will enable to arrange different excursions and develop incoming tourism and launch a new direction – “education tourism”. T h e
goal
is considering opportunities for educational tourism development via learning historical and cultural background of Perm districts. The
tasks
are: 1. to learn tourist opportunities of Perm in the sphere of excursions; 2. to get information about city districts and its features for excursion- making; 3. to do research in finding opportunities for educational tourism development via Perm districts.
Having done the research we found out that foreigners would love to visit our city again if they had a chance to be here once. Tourist flow is not the same every year, it depends on different reasons. Not only foreigners can be our clients, Perm inhabitants could be on our excursions as well. The main thing is work out a competitive and interesting offer that will be good for adults and children. Children (students) benefit from this activity as they can have real practice as those wjo are responsible for excursion activity and adults (teachers) will have an opportunity to travel in the frames of the project “educational tourism”. Information about Perm can be easily found in the Internet and printed resources. The problem may arise when we start inviting people for an excursion because they would answer that they could read about these places in the issues stated above. The solution to this problem can be found via educational tourism. As most of the excursions are supposed to be around the city, we could offer a new venue – excursions around districts of Perm. Exploring districts we could find a lot of legends, mysteries and origin of the name given to the territory. In spite of the fact that Perm is a provincial and industrial city that is not an international centre, we could make up a lot of themed excursions based on specific information.
