English-Speaking Club “Around English-Speaking countries”. Theme:The USA( states: Texas, Wyoming), Scotland ( The UK), The Russian Federation. Tasks: 1.To learn new information to the topic. 2.To train students in using known vocabulary, grammar about English-Speaking countries. 3.To listen and talk in English to the topic. 4.To learn children to be cultivated and tolerant. Technic Equipment:1.Computer, Digital voice recorder, DVD-Video, MP3CD, The projector”EIKI”; 2.A Political Map, The Programmes, badges with names. Plan. 1.The beginning. Good morning boys and girls! Nice to see you again. 2. The introduction of the teacher. Today we are here to have a talk between us. We are from different nations, countries, continents. I think, it is very interesting to have such communication, because we have an opportunity to exchange our knowledge about our countries, know (learn) something new, have good friends, have funny time. Thanks to modern technologies we have such opportunities. So today is the 1 st part of meeting. So, we are ready to start our talk. First of all lets have aquaintance with our guests: from the USA, Texas (Tx) Jeffry Masters (5 мин.), Wyoming (Wy) Kel Comby (5 мин.), Scotland (GB) Jane Mcwood, Edingburg, Scotland (GB) (5 мин.), mountaineer from Australia Monica Stasy (5 мин.). All our guests have 5 minutes to represent their native places (20min.) All the guests give some information about their places. 3. Russian students will ask some questions about your countries. 1. What is the fifth state of the USA? ----The fifth state is the group of Huvaya islands. The Huvaya island and 123 islands are the final state. It was in 1959. 2. What about Bermudas islands. Are they American? -------No, Bermudas are the British colony. They are in the Atlantic ocean. They are the northest coral islands in the world. 3. What river is longer the Missuery or the Mississippi? -------The Mississippi is longer than the Missuery.
4. I know that The Great lakes are situated between Canada and the USA. And what about the Michigan? -------Michigan Lake. Yes, you are right. The Great Lakes are situated between Canada and my country. But the Mishigan is in the USA only. 5. I know that the catital of the US is Wasington D.C. But is it in Washington state? --------Oh,no.Washington State is the Western state and the capital is Seatle. Wasington D.C is in Verginia state. It is in the East of the country. Now time for the questions of our guests. 4. American: How many states are there in the US? (50) What is the biggest state in the US? (Alaska) Scotland: What is the highest peak in Scotland?
