The spreading of cinematography in Russia started with
the demostration of the Lumiere brothers’ film in May 1896
in St.Petersburg and Moscow and later in Nizhni
Novgorod.
Arrival of the Train
People ran out of the cinema,
thinking it was a real train.
The film making industry is firmly connected
with the name of A. Khanzhonkov, who
founded the first film studios.
